I have found this book to be extremely useful. I carry it with me when I go baby shopping or when I am online looking for certain items. It rates different products and companies on safety and price, so it easily narrows down the choices for you. It also informs you of the many unnecessary items out there for sale for babies. There is so much stuff out there, it can be confusing and worrysome, but this book helps you weed out the things you won't need to waste your money on.

This is a must have for first time parents. Advice of well meaning family and friends is great, but these authors have an ENTIRE industry knowledge to be able to tell you what the latest and greatest gadgets are and if you really need them. Not sure baby bargains is the appropriate name, it's more of a consumer report for baby buying. They review everything in detail and let you know if you should splurge or save.

Bought this book when my daughter was pregnant in 2007 and again this year when my daughter in law was pregnant. The book went with them when we registered for baby items - the higher the grade the more likely it made the list!
