Grandpa's buy
Works just fine...he's starting to notice the mobile...loves the vibration and music...changing table is great...haven't packed it up to take it anywhere yet so we'll see.

5 out of 5 stars This thing is perfect   July 21, 2010

To be upfront, my husband and I haven't actually used this as a playard yet, just as a bassinet and as a changing table. This pack and play is extremely easy to use for both.

PROS: The nightlight and music are great. The diaper changing area has enough little pockets for everything. It is very sturdy. I can't believe how this huge thing can fold up so small! It is easy to drag from one room to another.

CONS: I can't really feel the vibrations (when I put them on) in the bassinet sleeping area - but who knows, maybe my baby can. You can't use the pack and play as a changing table and a bassinet at the same time - meaning you have to take off the changing table apparatus to use the bassinet. However, while a bit of a con, the changing table fits neatly into the side of the pNp and is also very sturdy and well made. I looked at some of the others that had the changing table attached to the end of the pNp and I don't know how comfy I would feel putting my child in that.

Overall, definately 5 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Great but not super portable   July 20, 2010

This is an awesome pack and play. I set it up with relative ease but when I went to put it away i realized i would have to completely take it back apart. It will be perfect to use in our room when baby arrived and maybe for longer trips but def not the pack and play to quickly throw in the car for a short trip.

After researching on Consumer Reports, Amazon, and two local major baby item retailers, we decided on this model from Amazon. My wife and I already have one play yard from our two previous boys, but we needed another so we could take one to her work for our baby girl. Although we discussed for a long time the additional expense of this model, in the end we purchased it. My wife and I are extremely happy with the Chicco Play yard. It was not as difficult to set up as I read, but we won't be breaking this down that often. I'm also not a big fan of following instructions, but they were easy to refer to. We use this next to our bed as a bassinet/crib, until we transition her into the crib in her bedroom. We really like the additional safety that Chicco provides by wrapping the fabric over the side rails at the top of the bassinet, so that kids can't get there fingers in when they get a little curious. The remote control, music player, and vibration soother is a nice touch to a top of the line playyard. We are use to buying top of the line items for our kids and this exceeded our expectations.
Once again, Amazon did a great job geting me what I wanted, by the time I wanted it, without any issues.
You won't be sorry for the additional expense. Your kids deserve it.

1 out of 5 stars Non-functional Waste of Money   July 7, 2010

When products like this make it to market it makes you stop and wonder if the company spent one single solitary moment testing usability.

Here are the highlights (low-lights, more accurately) of this piece of junk:

1. Won't fit through most doorways. Forget about moving it around with you throughout the day as you work around the house and do chores. You'll have to remove your child, collapse it, drag it to the next room, and then put it back up.

2. A nightmare to pack away and extremely heavy. It is so difficult to pack up and carry that you'll probably never take it down once you get it put up.

3. The bells and whistles you are paying for: a few pathetic little stuffed animals and a vibrating/nightlight thing that clips on the side.

This is handily one of the worst purchasing decisions we made as new parents, don't make the same mistake. Get a smaller, more portable, more functional pack-and-play from another company. About the only thing this is good for is a stationary sleeper, and you probably already have a crib, so this product is worthless.
