Talk about getting your hopes up... July 28, 2010 Ashley Holdren (Watsontown, PA, US) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was so excited to get these test strips because I had read so many great reviews on them. My husband and I just started TTC, and I am a POAS addict, so the price was just right!
Unfortunately, the tests aren't though. Out of this pack of 25, I had 10 positive results. I was so excited that we were successful our very first month of TTC. I went to the doctor to have a blood test done, and in the meantime, I bought some First Response Early Results test just for confirmation. It was a Friday I went to the doctor, so I was going to have to wait till Monday for the results. When I took the First Response tests (using the same urine) they came up negative. I was devastated! Then I thought, ok, maybe these strips are even more sensitive than the FRER's. Well apparently, that's wrong too, because my blood test came up negative from the doctor. I still have yet to get AF, and now the doctor is putting me on Provera so I can get it. These tests played with my emotions horribly, and I won't purchase them again.
And before anyone says maybe they were evaporation lines... I even confirmed with my doctor that evap lines do not show up within the first 2 minutes of the test. I followed the directions correctly too... I just apparently had a bad batch or something. I'd attach a picture of some of the positives if I knew how.
Perfectly Accurate, Cheaper and a lot Less Waste July 27, 2010 Jayre (Kansas City, MO United States) These tests are great. They work really easily, and while you have to pee in a cup versus directly on the stick, the smaller test and lack of plastic means a lot less waste. The price can't be beat!
FALSE POSTIVES July 26, 2010 lovingmami89 I bought this since I saw the reviews and wanted to try them since they were cheaper, I wish I hadnt. I took 19 tests 6 came back False Positives on 5 different days. it wasnt worth the money no matter how cheap to get so excited about adding a new child to our family than to be told by the doctor Im not pregnant. I have cried since I found out. I will never waste my money on these again the clearblue digitals are the best ones I have found. I have cysts on my ovaries and am lucky to have the children I have but to see those positives and to think I would be adding the final baby to our family was amazing than to turn around and be crushed was horrible. I will spend the 23 on hte 5 pack of clear blue digital before I ever buy these again.
Works but line is fainter and takes longer to appear than on a drugstore test July 24, 2010 nr danilow (By the sea) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These strips can detect pregnancy before a missed period but potential buyers should be aware that the line takes longer to appear and is much fainter than the line you will get with one of the packaged drugstore brands. In fact, I took this test before my missed period and thought that the results were "inconclusive" because the line was barely visible so my husband went out to get a drugstore test. That test was much more obvious and results appeared much quicker. Even now, about a week plus after my period, the line is still fainter than the control line and takes a couple of minutes to appear. Hopefully that doesn't indicate a problem. Anyway, the bottom line is that if you plan on taking a lot of pregnancy tests, these are a good option just don't expect them to work the same as the other tests you may be used to taking.
