Product Description ATTN: Britax owners. If our product is too short, please check to be sure your LATCH straps are in the forward facing position.
Whether flying on an airplane or traveling by train or bus, it is safest and most comfortable for your child to be in a car seat. But traveling with a young child, their seat, and your carry-on can be tricky. Not anymore. The Traveling Toddler strap allows you to attach your LATCH and top tether equipped toddler's car seat to a rolling carry-on suitcase. Simply attach the LATCH and top tether straps from the car seat to the Traveling Toddler and adjust the straps so that the car seat is held securely on the suitcase. Once adjusted, the car seat can be detached and reattached to the suitcase in seconds. Lift the handle of your carry-on bag and you have a fun new stroller.
Now there's an easy and inexpensive way to take your toddler's car seat and other gear on your trip. You do not have to buy a special seat or suitcase. As long as your suitcase handle locks in place, you can push it like a stroller. Your hands are free for check in and its simple to unhook for security. Keep your child safe and comfortable in their own seat.
The Traveling Toddler has been tested with most major car seat brands including Graco, Eddie Bauer, Cosco, Evenflo, and Britax, and a variety of carry-on suitcases and has worked with every combination. It is important that the telescoping handle of your suitcase locks in place. If not, it might not stay extended when you try to push your child in front of you, though you would still be able to pull them. If flying, make sure that your car seat is FAA approved before traveling.
The Traveling Toddler strap is made from heavyweight polypropylene webbing that will withstand 900 lbs of force. When not in use it easily slips in the pocket of your carry-on. As with any other wheeled child carrier, do not use the Traveling Toddler on stairs or escalators.
Car seat and suitcase sold separately.

Works well - but what a work out! July 26, 2010 Chryste Berda The Traveling Toddler worked just as promised. We had tons of compliments while making our way through the airport. I was traveling with a two year old and a three year old and my husband who managed all of the strapping and re-strapping as necessary to get through security. My boys felt more comfortable flying because they were able to remain in a familiar car seat even though they were in an unfamilar environment. But a word of warning, your abdominal muscles will get one heck of a workout due to the weight of the child plus the carry-on. My husband and I were both breaking a sweat just transporting the boys from point A to point B in the airport. Also, only use this if you either outnumber or equal the number of children because it really does take two people to work the system. Even if you only have one child, you need someone who can care for the child/children while the other adult reattaches the strap after going through security. I would use this again.
Excellent Product July 20, 2010 S. Joiner (Missouri) I thought this product was excellent! It is small and very convenent! However, it is a little bit of a pain in the butt when you have to take everything apart for security and then to check the car seat in at the gate and put it all back together when you pick it back up! After a few times of doing this myhusband got the hang of it and figured out how to leave the piece hooked on to the car seat and was able to just slide the suitcase into the loop and hook it up on the time! This did save a little bit of time and effort. I will definitly keep using this product and will recommend it to my family and friends!
Must have for any parent ! July 13, 2010 Amie Lee (Minneapolis, MN) I bought this because we had a vacation planned and my husband had to go on a business trip last minute. He wasn't sure if he'd be back from a business trip in time to travel with us and it was likely I was going to take my 2yr old on a plane alone. I wasn't sure how I was going to get her, the car seat, plus any carry-on through the airport by myself (let alone a stroller). I bought this hoping that all the good reviews were accurate.
My husband was home in time and so I can't say how using it as 1 parent would work but using it with both of us was fantastic! My daughter thought it was so neat that she actually liked to ride in it (she likes to walk vs ride most of the time) Not only did it keep our toddler from running all over the airport it also made carting her car seat around ridiculously easy. I think I'd have less fear about traveling with her alone knowing how well the product worked.
The suitcase we used to attach it to had all her clothes and toys for the trip in it so no need for a diaper bag and when she spilled her juice a change of clothes was just in the overhead compartment.
I cannot recommend this product enough !
BUY THIS!!! July 10, 2010 Peach Baby I can't believe that I almost bought that $80 contraption from One Step Ahead. This was awesome. After reading the bad review about the woman who had the horrible experience, I was nervous. I was traveling alone with my 10-month old for the first time and had the jitters. I had to practice at home first and think the whole scenario through; Going through security was my biggest fear. Turns out, it wasn't bad at all, and mind you, I was at ATL, the busiest airport in the world.
Key points:
-I know they tell you to not let your child stay in the seat when you detach the strap...(in a whisper voice) they're just covering themselves. DO NOT remove your child unless there is someone to hold them. Mine would have crawled away immediately. All you have to do is keep one hand on the seat just in case it tips(mine didn't budge, but just in case) while you unhook the strap.
-Once I had it tightened to my liking, it took one hand to unhook the top and one side. Then I just tucked the whole thing, with one side still hooked(there's 3 rings) into my carseat.
-In a nutshell, security went like this: Unhooked TT from carseat(4 seconds), took liquids out of carry-on(2 seconds) Unbuckled backpack diaper bag off me (2 seconds). Then I took my son out of his seat and with one hand, was able to lift all of my items that were lined up next to each other(purse, diaper bag, liquids bag, carry-on bag, and carseat) onto the conveyor belt and in the bins in like 10 seconds. I even took my out my baby food, while bouncing my little guy in my arm. Of course it was more of an ordeal than if it was just me, but hey, I had baby. People and security understood and gave me consideration...well actually, I demanded it, I'll never see them again. I didn't allow myself to get flustered and it went fine.
-After I walked through, I just did everything in reverse. Took my items off the belt, strapped my little guy in, hooked my carry-on to the seat, and went on my merry way.
-It was even easier coming back because I felt seasoned.
So in conclusion(LOL)it took a little planning in my head before hand, but worked great!
I could make something better myself. July 2, 2010 MamaBri Great idea but needs altering. I would just use a click-locking tiedown strap instead. It would go tighter than this device I actually bought. The carseat would just barely drag on the ground when connected to the carry on. I had the anchors and latch as tight as they would go but it still wasn't tight enough from keeping the carseat from touching the ground unless you had the bag tilted so much that your back was breaking from your hand almost touching the ground. My husband just ended up carrying the carseat by hand the whole time!
